Haywood CB

As a former golf retailer I am very particular about my irons, it is a combination of look at set-up, sound on contact, and feedback through the club matching my expected ball flight. Honestly it's also more than a little bit on how good the irons look in the bag. I went through the fitting process online, though I already know my set-up and found that the recommendations based on honest responses was spot on. I contacted Haywood with some questions based on my past favorite irons and they confirmed that the CB's were in fact the best match for me. Though I play to a fairly low handicap I prefer play to practice so I wanted a little more forgiveness. After a week of using these irons I can honestly say I got exactly what I was looking for at a price that is untouchable by big name brands. Fit to my specs, the shafts and grips I am comfortable with and a classic look. I took a chance on a club I've never hit before, but Haywood more than lives up to it's reputation, I'll have these in my bag for the foreseeable future.

I picked up a set of the CB 5-PW after getting fitted at their HQ in Vancouver. The fitting process was a great experience and I ended up hitting the Modus shafts in X flex the best. I ordered the next day and they arrived a couple weeks later. Through my last 5 rounds of the year I shot two PB's and completely eliminated the flyers my previous set was having on the centwr strikes that went an extra 20Y. My distance and side to side dispersion has dropped by almost half and I am loving these clubs. I've been to the range 3 times since getting them and all 3 times I had guys come up to me and ask what club I was hitting. One of them was playing a $3k set of Miuras and said he would be selling them after trying a couple clubs. Even I tried his Miuras and thought the CB's had a softer feel, better flight, and you can't beat the sound these make off of the face. No complaints and can't wait to order some wedges this winter.

I ordered the 5-PW CB set as I carry a 5/7 wood at the top end of my bag. I had the clubs fit with x100 shafts with navy/red furls. Clubs are gorgeous. The CNC milled finish is outstanding and I have already had a number people comment on how good the clubs look. The feel off the club face is fantastic. Coming from a set of GI irons I did not know what to expect and I am beyond impressed. Miss hits are not that punishing, but definitely has less margin for error than my GIs. I went back and forth with a few questions and Haywood was always prompt with emails. Clubs came in just under 2 weeks. I would 100% recommend Haywood and I am planning on replacing my wedges when needed and maybe picking up a driving iron!

I was a bit hesitant ordering these irons without having seen them in person, much less tried them. I cannot say enough positive things about them! I was previously using game improvement irons, and I’m blown away by these. The feel is absolutely buttery! Like hitting a marshmallow when you pure it. It’s addictive. The forgiveness is also great! I was concerned about that, coming from game improvement irons, but these are great. You’ll know when you mishit it, but they aren’t too punishing. The top line is somewhat thin, but actually inspires confidence. I feel like I hit them better than my GI irons, because of that. These are hands down the best looking irons I’ve ever personally seen. The finish and milling is stunning. They’re extremely aesthetically pleasing. Almost too pretty to hit! Lastly, the price absolutely cannot be beat. These are premium irons that would absolutely stack up with the $1,300 sets. At $800, I got a great set of clubs that’ll last a decade or more, along with a complimentary hat and towel. If you’re on the fence, just make the jump. You wont regret it; they’re an absolute joy to use!

What a great looking and playing set. I'm pretty meticulous when it comes to making big purchases. I like to do my research and take my time. Took me almost a year to pull the trigger, but so glad I did. Bought a full set (irons, driving iron, wood, wedge, putter, bag) and a few solid accessories. Everything is of quality. I've gained 20-30 yards on my drives too. Still getting used to the driving iron, 56, and putter.

Played in Niagara Falls on the weekend. The person I was golfing with very excited to see that I had a set of haywoods, as his brother, who is a golf nut, just purchased some not too long ago. As an amateur golfer, this made me even more sure of my purchase.

These irons are pure! Great feel, great looks, and a great price tag. If you are looking for irons without jacked up lofts, and with minimal offset, I can't recommend these enough.

Received my Haywood CBs over the winter. As an improving 12 handicap I had tried the 7 iron and really enjoyed it over the current hallow body irons I was playing. Didn’t lose a lot of distance but was seeing very consistent numbers on the launch monitor. The feel is incredible as well but the thing that stuck out to me (outside of the price obviously) was how forgiving they are. On miss hits the ball doesn’t travel too far offline or lose too much distance.

These are the best looking irons I have had since the 1980’s. The biggest difference is that they are much more forgiving on off centre strikes. The look is clean and the soft feel is amazing. The weaker lofts compared to today’s distance irons are much easier to hit and there is not any loss of distance. I have not had such an enjoyable round of golf in years using the irons. Highly recommended for all ages including us old guys.

I absolutely love these irons. I have played them for 10 rounds now and I am so impressed. These are the most accurate irons I have ever played. The ball flight I am seeing through the set is fantastic. Even the 5 iron is fun to hit. 3/4 and knock down shots are easy. My previous iron set was Gen 1 P790 and I thought those were really good - the Haywood CBs are flat out better. It has taken very little time to adjust to the distance gapping of the CBs - very consistent distance gaps that quite frankly make the game easier. I would without doubt buy these irons again.

I was fitted for very expensive Ping CB irons, and decided to try out the Haywood CBs with the same shafts I was originally fitted in. I have about 25 rounds played with the Haywood CBs now. Performance is very similar to the more expensive Pings. The carry and spin numbers are consistent on a Trackman/GCQuad, and the irons feel decently forgiving and quite workable in real play.

For this price point, it is well worth the money. Certainly not an iron you play if you are looking for extra distance and/or a lot of forgiveness. But as far as a players CB goes, hard to go wrong with this kind of performance for the price. I was a fan of the Haywood wedges before, but these irons are just as impressive.

The cb's are truly incredible from a looks perspective and while they may not be as buttery soft as say a mizuno, they feel amazing. Haywood also puts the extra little touches in with their clubs in that they give you a premium hat and magnetic towel with a purchase of a set. Honestly its the little things that set Haywood apart, and I can say this with certainty because I bought plenty of full sets from the big manufacturers as well as from other DTC brands. In my opinion Haywood combines the best of design, quality, customer service, price, configuration options, and most importantly performance.

I couldn't recommend these any higher.

Awesome clubs. The bag appeal is unreal and the feel off the face is awesome. The only reason not 5/5 is cause I’d like to see an option where you can do CBs from 6 iron down and do a 4 and 5 iron in something like the PD1.

These are the best looking feeling iron I have ever owned, I have owned several "big name" brands in the past and these just do it for me, I love the look, love the feel and sound and that lofts are more traditional.
The customizing options are great. I just can't say enough about these irons, they are now my forever irons

Bit of a club junkie ,used to play some decent golf back in the day so I’ve tried lots of brands, currently own Haywood CB's and Wilson Staff V2 I can say Haywood irons are as good as anything out there they were made to my specs I wanted ,absolutely love them .Look forward to the whole season with them next year.

Super buttery soft and forgiving. Beautiful clubs at address. Never going back to the big Guys

I bought a set of basically new CBs (4-P) off of a buddy. Took them to the range and from the 1st shot I was in love. Crisp and just power through the turf. Felt amazing….just as good as Mizuno. Sound wasn’t muted but also wasn’t a thwack! I can only describe it as just right. Flight was strong and penetrating. Can flight it up or down with ease. Easy to shape shots. Sole is thin, but not razor thin like a blade (MB). Shots from the rough are good but require a good strike. I don’t find these jumpy when you hit the middle and pure one. Distances are good for a CB. I carry the 7 iron around 180 playing in Calgary area with 3250 feet elevation.

These are the real deal for almost half of the price of the big boy brand names. Looks are incredible. What more do I need to say. I then bought 5-P heads and am saving them for when I finally do a new build.

Only thing I have to say to anyone considering pulling the trigger on these is getting the right shafts to match your swing. I play these in a Project X IO 6.5 (x stiff flex) and feel like that is close to perfect for me. First time playing extra stiff and I’m not hitting draws/little hooks anymore. My natural shot is a baby draw. I can fade these babies easily.

I consider myself a pretty good player. I play off of a 4 handicap. Putting is my weakness. These irons have gotten my iron game more consistent and are getting me more birdie looks per round, especially on par 3s.

I also have the driving iron. This thing is a missile if you want a fairway finder off the tee for short par 4s.

Shipping was pretty quick. Customer service was top notch! Great job Haywood. Thinking of getting the woods and wedges to round out my bag with all Haywood clubs. Keep up the great work and can’t wait to see what you guys do next!
